Handmade wedding rings why exactly?
The Internet is full of them, almost all manufacturers promise you "handmade wedding rings" or "unique wedding rings". But when do you speak of handmade wedding rings and even more punishingly when of unique wedding rings?
When can you talk about handmade wedding rings?
It's a wild guess but here in Flanders what percentage of wedding rings are handmade? Let's keep it optimistic and round up to above 10 percent? More seems highly implausible to me.
- Because when is something truly handmade? There are many colleagues who claim to deliver handmade work but a more accurate description would be: " finished by hand" or have finished by hand. Still very many organic shaped wedding rings are sold and almost always these are 90 percent band and casting to achieve the special organic effect. (Finished hand rings) Of course a mass production system serves itself when many people want to purchase the same or similar rings. But it is definitely wrong to start selling this as handmade and even more punishingly as unique wedding rings.
When do you have unique wedding rings?
That's kind of the big question! Do you think of ah yes, unique that doesn't really give me now? No problem but then beware that you are also not paying a "unique price" for which there are thousands of copies cast every year.
Your wedding rings are unique when they are designed by a goldsmith to your size and desires, where every detail can be chosen without the yes buts.
Does it matter handmade or machine-made?
The choice is yours, a wedding ring is a symbol an important self and those rings above all should be durable in every way because you usually wear it longer than you drive a car around. So be a little more skeptical and do a little more reasearch before you haphazardly walk into a jeweler and choose a ring where only the budget is important and the rest is just an afterthought, don't be sad that your symbol around your finger has been given a short life!
Handmade wedding rings certainly have a great added value because real handmade wedding rings are always unique! Who wants more info can always contact me or make an appointment! I will show you the difference!
